These are verbs like pedir: pido, pides, pide, pedimos, piden.
So the verbs change from e to i.

Repetir: repito, repites, repite, repetimos, repiten
Servir: sirvo, sirves, sirve, servimos, sirven
Reír: río, ríes, ríe, reímos, ríen

Whenever the verb has a verb embedded in the verb, you conjugate the verb like your know. For example:

We reviewed poder, pedir and recomendar

I introduced: dormir, encontrar, costar and jugar.

These are stem-changing (or boot) verbs. They change to ue.

The conjugations are:
dormir -- duermo, duermes, duerme, dormimos, duermen
encontrar -- encuentro, encuentras, encuentra, encontramos, encuentran
costar -- cuesto, cuestas, cuesta, costamos, cuestan
jugar -- juego, juegas, juega, jugamos, juegan

As you can see, the syllable to the right of the last syllable (for example ju in jugar) changes. It is always this way. There are different stem-changes, o/u to ue, e to i, and e to ie. Today we only worked on the ue changes.

You are to complete the following attached document, too.

Quiz Monday

We have a vocabulary quiz on Monday.

It will be from English to Spanish, so you will be writing the answers in Spanish. Don't forget you need articles and pronouns to make the answers completely correct. And spelling counts this time! Don't forget the accents!

¡Buena suerte!
