I was raised in the South Bay, mainly Lawndale area, and graduated from Leuzinger High School. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Irvine and received my teaching credential from California State University, Dominguez Hills. I am credentialed to teach biology and chemistry.
I chose to teach science because I believe that everything we associate in life has a scientific origin, and my main focus is to bridge the gap between students’ cultural backgrounds and experiences to science. As students learn more about science, they will realize that everything they do is directly connected to science; whether it is sitting on a chair that was made with chemical bonds or developing a new pesticide to eliminate unwanted pests. Science has a purpose and I enjoy helping students acknowledge and understand it through demonstrations, experiments, and engaging lessons.
