Advanced Video Production students take a look at how new buildings at Leuzinger have made it more like a college campus. Diego Jimenez and Hector Gonzalez were honored by the Board of Education Oct. 14th for their work and leadership throughout the production.

I definitely strongly believe that a building could and can who has changed Leuzinger High School I mean when I first taught here 10 years ago I was in a bungalow way out literally in the corner the furthest you can get out in the middle of nowhere no one ever came to see me kids the only kids I would see past in wood would either be my students Play Once ditching the perception of the community and I don't think it was necessarily meant to keep people in here like a prison it was to keep  bad influence from the outside to come in teachers work day feel comfortable and doing labs in a regular classroom where there was no water there was no safety like I wash or fire you know why can't two things like that so I think it really was exciting that we could actually do laughs at we're required for the classes 8 Wareham  it literally look like a dump  I've seen the transition email from Bad better to best self when this building came in so it's like the start of the new Leuzinger change the building made of major change and just our school Community being proud of something that was actually knew because our school is pretty old I really think that new buildings Newgrounds kids want things that are new and they want things that they can be proud of and I think our school has done that now with these new buildings and changing the whole organization of the campus I think it makes a big difference get more Focus if they're in a better environment than if they feel like they're like 10 years what does I think it's open the kids I like wow these are this is what a true classroom science classroom supposed to look like this building has changed the whole culture of the school specially with the students the students are now proud to say this is my school inside your classroom and teachers are asked to use it and are using it and learning to use it it shows students that everything is college going and I mean honestly this campus is beautiful and it looks like a college I like it oh girl I absolutely think having the new building from Phase 1 it definitely set a different tone here on our campus our students seem to be have more pride in their school they seem to be more positive around campus believe it or not I feel like there's a correlation between the discipline incidents that we had on campus and just getting the new building I feel like the new building gave our students something to be proud of not only here cool but also in the community a better environment for students and for teachers for a teaching learning process to improve I think it's a really big factor having a building it does set the foundation and the expectation and its structure like you want to care for something that's good we're changing not only the outward appearance but we're changing the in word in word in word influence kind of raising the bar making it will rigorous I think it's something that we're really proud of because it didn't involve just us as administrators but it involves our entire district and our entire Community I think fact that our community actually voted in the bonds and allowed us to get phase one and now face to it it really speaks volumes to just the trust cabinets at the school site and I think the finished product that we have in these brand new buildings from Phase 1 and Phase 2 it really really really reflects what's something that our community want it for their kids and also I think something that we needed in this community for our students perception of the community cuz they can physically see something which is causing an internal questioning and they're finding out that we are really challenging there there I think that's a really powerful message to our kids that we are about learning and we are about sit achievement
