Dressing for Dance and Guided Practice (60% of grade): Two days each week students will dress in their dance uniform, demonstrate technique development, and choreography through guided practice. Proficient/Advanced students internalize correction prompts for technique and choreography to improve performance and make good use of work time. Students will apply corrective prompts to improve their daily practice of communicating and demonstrating technical concepts. Corrective prompts given by the teacher can be general, or specific, and are used to guide students to mastery, they are not given as critique. If students ignore corrections, they are not focusing on improving the quality of their work, or understanding of the concepts. Students should be rested, nourished, equipped with dance supplies: ballet shoes, sneakers, knee-pads, hair ties, pencil, paper and personal supplies. Rubric grades are posted on Power School each week.
