it's been without you my friend and I'll tell you see you come a long way from where we when see you again hey Olympians good brother homes here making sure that you understand that there are four steps that you must take in order for you to get the college step one you must get good grades not only should you get a good grade season above but you should get season of butt in your a through G course requirements here's a counselor to explain the importance of the a through G requirements  hi this is Missy and I'm here to talk to you about what it means to be a through G eligible so this year at lizard high school we're going to be having an A through G campaign you're going to be hearing from you teachers and staff on what it means to be qualified for colleges and universities so basically 8:30 eligibility means that you meet the minimum requirements apply for a Cal State or UC so I already know that you know what it takes to graduate from high school you need at least two 20 credit that doesn't necessarily mean that you are a through G to be a through G you have to meet a set of requirements that are higher than graduation for example instead of just two years of math you'll need a minimum of three and recommended for years of math for Science and foreign language instead of 2 where is you need a recommended 3 years of both of those courses you'll find your a through G requirements in your student planners you'll also see them on post turn around your classroom at the front of every door do you will also see big letter C or D or a that just means and shows you that class you're taking satisfied that a through G requirements one important thing to remember is that you cannot absolutely not have ADD so even though Dee's give you credit for graduation it when College of the University see that they count that as an S so you need to take those classes to make a c or higher again the big question is are you a through G eligible please talk to your counselors look at your transcript and make you are well on your way to college  step to be involved you must involve yourself in your school community and in your culture how can you get involved you ask involve yourself in extracurricular activities involve yourself in leadership opportunities involve yourself and internships and last but not least involve yourself in athletics and campus and community service all of these things will bill will be call a resume this is your high school so as you're applying to colleges they will ask you what extracurricular activities have you been involved in you will be able to list these activities as you involve yourself so please stay involved  hi my name is your homes and I remember to be on our campus I'm here to stress the importance of staying involves when I can place you can if a mini extracurricular activities such as joining a club being a part of athletes team being a part of an internship or doing community service sure that you involve yourself so you can begin building your resume and standing out for the colleges that you dream to go to  step 3 take the you asked what test will there are several tests that you may have to take in order to be accepted into a 4-year university to begin make sure you taking the PSAT this is a national ranking system as well as preparation for your SAT take the SAT take the ACT in 11th graders please take your ex back test very seriously because this determines your placement in certain subjects when you're asking going to college here's mr. Perez to explain more about this process the Olympians how you doing this is depressing the career center in room 104 in the main building more than welcome to come by I'll show you about college I'll show you about scholarships perhaps you looking for a job I'm the man just let me know I'm open before lunch nutrition how to school before school you name it is make sure you come ready to work on something positive I will assist you you know for the rest of your life perhaps okay so these mr. Breslin shout out to everyone here losing High School  and finally step for make sure you use your resources and last but not least apply to the university see if your jury process is extremely important did you want to make sure that you stay on track that you take care of everything that you need you visit your counselors on a weekly basis and you don't fail any classes also we want to encourage you to get A's and B's and every class so that you are ready to enter a 4-year College congratulations on making it this far we look forward to a very successful school year once again take it seriously your grades and your future are extremely important we are so proud of you good luck and I look forward to seeing you on day one
