My name is Ms. Dyson. This will be my first year at Leuzinger HS but my eighth year teaching high school. This year I will be teaching Financial Literacy, IM3 (MCA) and Statistics.
I am a proud graduate from El Camino College and California State University of Dominguez Hills...Go Toros! I have lived all my life in beautiful Southern California.
Why I Became a Teacher
Prior to teaching, I worked in the field of actuarial science. During my free time, I mentored high school students with preparation for college, and assisted with math homework. Through volunteering, I found my passion to teach. As a teacher, I hope to instill in my students the awareness that learning is not something that just happens in the classroom but every moment of your lives. I am very passionate in building math confidence and guiding my students on their journey to discover their full potential.
What I Expect From My Students?
I expect for each of my students to put in a 100%. Because each student learns differently, each students’ 100% looks different. I have high expectations for my students. It’s important for us to work together and know that the classroom is a safe, positive learning environment where mistakes are seen as opportunities.
